Reykjadalur Hot Spring Thermal River is a magical spot nestled in a lush valley in Iceland, offering a unique soaking experience.

Location: Reykjadalur, which translates to "Steam Valley," is situated in South Iceland about 45 kilometers (28 miles) southeast of Reykjavik.

Accessibility: The trailhead to the hot spring river is easily accessible by car. From Reykjavik, take Route 1 (the Ring Road) eastwards, then turn onto Route 38 towards Hveragerði. Follow the signs to Reykjadalur, where there is a parking area at the trailhead.

Trail: The hike to the Hot Spring River is approximately 3 kilometers (1.9 miles) one way, making for a round trip of about 6 kilometers (3.7 miles). The hike typically takes about 45-60 minutes each way, depending on your pace and the weather conditions.

Facilities: There are simple changing areas with wooden dividers for some privacy, but no full facilities like showers or restrooms. Bring a swimsuit and towel, and be prepared to change in a natural setting.

Best Time to Visit: Reykjadalur can be visited year-round, but the best time for hiking is during the summer months.

What to Bring: Bring a swimsuit, towel, sturdy hiking shoes, water, and snacks. Dressing in layers is advisable due to the variable weather. A waterproof jacket is also recommended.
