Þórufoss is a beautiful, lesser-known waterfall in Iceland.
Location: Þórufoss is located in the Laxárdalur Valley, about 30 kilometers (19 miles) northeast of Reykjavik. It is situated on the river Laxá í Kjós, a renowned salmon river.
Accessibility: The waterfall is accessible by car. From Reykjavik, take Route 1 (the Ring Road) northwards, then turn onto Route 48. A gravel road leads to the parking area near the waterfall. The road is generally in good condition and accessible by most vehicles
Best Time to Visit: Þórufoss can be visited year-round.
Facilities: There are no facilities directly at Þórufoss. The nearest amenities, including restrooms and restaurants, can be found in the town of Mosfellsbær or Reykjavik.
