Gullfoss Falls, also known as the "Golden Waterfall," is a majestic and iconic waterfall in Southwest Iceland.
Location: on the Golden Circle route, about 120 kilometers (75 miles) northeast of Reykjavik.
Best time to visit: Gullfoss can be visited year-round. I recommend you to visit before 10 AM if you want to avoid the crows.
Viewing Platforms: There are several viewing platforms and walking paths that provide different perspectives of the falls. The main viewing area offers a close-up view of the upper tier, while other paths lead to vantage points overlooking the entire cascade.
Facilities: The Gullfoss Visitor Center, located near the parking area, offers restrooms, a café, and a gift shop. Information about the waterfall and the surrounding area is also available.
