Mega Livadi: this little fishing town is famous for its broken bridge and the mines. Serifos is full of precious rocks and ore. Until the 60’s, many mining sites used to operate here under bad conditions for the mine workers. In 1916, a big demonstration took place and the mine workers set explosives to the bridge which connected one side of the beach to the other. As a result of this uproar, the 8-hour shift was established in Greece. The mining site has been since left untouched! It’s worth visiting around sunset time, because you can see the beautiful sunset from there.
