This is the Hora of Folegandros, in my opinion one of the most special ones.
It is built right on the edge of the cliff. Back in the day, this served the purpose of being able to look at the sea, see the invading pirate ships and spread the message to the villagers as quickly as possible. The heart of Hora used to be the fortified Venetian castle of the settlement during the previous centuries.
Nowadays, it's pure bliss for those who enjoy a traditional Cycladic town. Best enjoyed during the months of May, June and then September, since the town is relatively small and can get crowded in July and August.
In its cute and narrow alleys you will find quite a few tavernas, restaurants, a handful of bars, as well as shops selling handmade artwork.
