Cologne Cathedral is a historical landmark belonging to the Catholic Church and is situated in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It is an impressive structure of Gothic architecture renowned as one of the key symbols of German Catholicism. With a soaring 157 metres high twin spire, it stands tall as the second tallest church in all of Europe, being surpassed only by Ulm Minster! The cathedral is also noted for being the most visited attraction in Germany, attended by an average of 20,000 people every day. It has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1996 and plays into its construction history with many different structures being added and removed throughout centuries.
