The Wartburg is a majestic castle that was built in the Middle Ages, located on a 410-meter (1,350 ft) precipice overlooking the town of Eisenach. It is an important attraction in Thuringia and many cultural events have occurred here throughout history. It is famously known for being the home of St. Elizabeth of Hungary, as well as the place where Martin Luther translated the New Testament of the Bible into German. It is also renowned for its architecture, with much of its interior dating back to the 19th century. If you’re looking for a fun, historical vacation destination, the Wartburg is an ideal choice!
