Moritzburg, Saxony is a beautiful village between Meissen and Dresden. It is best known for its Baroque Castle Schloss Moritzburg, home to many artistic patronage activities thanks to Augustus II the Strong and Maurice, Electors of Saxon. Modern-day Moritzsburg also includes a Saxon State stud dating back to 1828, as well as a heritage railway connecting the town to the district capital Radebeul and Radeburg that was built in the late 1800s. Notable local personalities include Albert Casimir, Duke of Teschen and artist Käthe Kollwitz, who resided in the village's Rudenof from 1944 until her death in 1945. There is certainly plenty to explore in this quaint town!
