The Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe, commonly referred to as the Holocaust Memorial in Berlin, is a stunning and historically significant monument that honors those devastatingly impacted by the Holocaust. Designed by Peter Eisenman and Buro Happold, the memorial covers 19,000 square meters with 2,711 stelae arranged in various heights across its expansive grounds. Below ground, the site houses an Information Bureau which includes the names of approximately 3 million Jewish victims. Constructed in 2004 and inaugurated in 2005, the memorial serves as both an educational resource and a place of reflection and respect for those persecuted during the Holocaust. It stands as a reminder of the tragedy, allowing us to honor the resilience of those who were victimized while also learning from the mistakes of the past.
