Message from Dana R.

Gjáin Valley is a hidden gem in Iceland.

Location: Gjáin is located in the Þjórsárdalur Valley in South Iceland, near the historical site of Stöng, a reconstructed Viking-era farm.

Accessibility: It's approximately a 2-hour drive from Reykjavik and to access the place you need to drive a 4WD vehicle

Landscape: Gjáin is characterized by its lush greenery, multiple waterfalls, lava formations, and clear pools. It’s a small but diverse area that looks like an oasis.

Best Time to Visit: The best time to visit is during summer (June to August). During this time, the valley is lush and vibrant.

Facilities: There are no facilities at Gjáin, so it’s important to bring everything you might need, such as water, snacks, and appropriate clothing.
