Lai della Stria is the one of the not well known places in Switzerland. Due to its location you will need to work for getting the views and the crystal clear lakes.

The lake is located at 2485 meter in kanton Graubünden at the border to Uri.

HIKE DETAILS:

Start: Rueras village ( 1406 meter) Follow the sign towards Etzlihütte that is located in kanton Uri. We won't need to go that far, the lakes lays way below the hut.

The hike takes you through a valley, apart from the 1080 meter of elevation gain, the hike itself is easy. I recommend using Switzerland mobility app for the last part of the trail. There is a sign pointing to the direction of the lake, and from there you just need to follow the red and white painted signs :)

The round trip will be 14,6 km long, so bring plenty of snacks and water.

TIP: if you feeling adventurous, book a night at Etzlihütte and hike there after spending time at the lakes.

TIP2: Behind Lai dell Stria there is another hidden lake called Lais Selvadis, I would personally not miss that. There is a painted sign on one of the rocks, pointed towards the lake, just follow that, in 4 minutes you will arrive. It is beautiful. ( I enclosed a screenshot of the map)
