Message from Stefanos Addimando

Agios Sostis is a double-sided beach, though the side looking to the north often has debris and seaweed being washed off from the sea to the shore due to the northern winds. Therefore you will probably want to sit on the bigger, right side.

The waters are just amazing! Make sure to bring a mask for snorkeling. It’s a secluded beach so you should not worry about big waves or currents, there is none of that. Also, bear in mind that there are only a few trees providing shade, so keep that in mind. The best would be to visit this beach around afternoon times, when it’s quiet and the sun isn’t as strong. Up on the rocks, on the north side you will see the church of Agios Sostis and here are two interesting facts about it: On the 6th of September every year, a big “panigiri” celebration takes place in that church.

Also, getting married there is the ultimate Greek islands experience. The tradition says that the groom expects the bride at the church and the bride comes on a boat, accompanied by traditional violin, joyful music.
