This one is for your Athens visit, a must-see.

Located in Pangrati, the Panathenaic Stadium in Athens is a legendary site and not just any stadium; it's the place where the first modern Olympic Games were held in 1896. This iconic venue, made of stunning white marble, stands as a symbol of Greece's sporting heritage and Olympic spirit.

Tip: access it from above, at Archimidous street. There’s an entrance that takes you to the upper levels of the stadium, where you can sit on the marbles, have a direct view to the Acropolis and the sunset! It’s a popular chill spot for Athenians. Many choose to do some jogging in there. You can even get down the stairs, to the bottom of the stadium and do some running on the running track!

Additional tip: on the ground level you’ll see a tunnel. Do explore it! It’s an ancient tunnel, a catacomb that was carved when the stadium was built. Its significance involved ceremonies that were being held in there.
