Krauma is just an hour and a half drive from Reykjavik and offers several different pools, each with its own unique features and characteristics, all heated naturally by earth's core. It takes advantage of the naturally heated water from Europe's most powerful hot spring, Deildartunguhver, with a temperature of 100°C (212°F), which is then cooled down with cold glacial water from Rauðsgil, to achieve the perfect bathing temperature. The spa offers 5 different hot baths and one cold plunge bath, all providing a range of benefits for the skin and body.
The on-site restaurant serves up delicious Icelandic cuisine made from fresh local ingredients, while saunas and a relaxation room provide additional wellness benefits.
QUICK NOTES:
What it is: A luxurious hot spring spa in Iceland
Best season: Any.
Nice to know: Usually this place isn't very crowded (more during summer of course) so if you're looking for a more secluded but fancy spa experience, Krauma might be your place. There's also a very nice restaurant on site so you can really make a full experience of it.
