Hidden waterfall and old ruins

Waterfall

Message from Thrainn Kolbeinsson

I honestly can't remember seeing another photo of this waterfall. One of the reasons is definitely that it's very seasonal so you want to visit during summer time or fall, before everything freezes. It is very close to the road and you can park right by it. If you look carefully, you'll even see remnants of old ruins just below the waterfall.

QUICK NOTES:

  • What it is: A small waterfall and old ruins in Snæfellsnes.

  • Best season: Summer/fall for the most power in the waterfall.

  • Best time of day: In the summertime, it should be lit up during sunrise and sunset but then in the shade during the rest of the day.

  • Nice to know: Don't miss the old ruins there. You can also walk up and get close to it.
