If you're into wildlife, you might want to be on the lookout for reindeers in Iceland. The best time to see the them is in winter time, that is when the herds head down to the lowland searching for food. They're mostly in East Iceland but they do go as far south/west as Jökulsárlón. In the winter time, you can easily spot them while driving the main road / ring road so keep an eye out.

QUICK NOTES:

  • What it is: Reindeers in Iceland

  • Best season: Winter.

  • Best time of day: Any time of day.

  • Nice to know: You can easily spot them close to the ring road so keep an eye out.
