This beach is like the other side of the coin for Iceland's most visited black sand beach. Just around the cliffs, you have Víkurfjara beach. You can even see the same sea stacks from there. If you want to enjoy a black sand beach away from the crowds, this is a good choice.

QUICK NOTES:

  • What it is: A black sand beach on the south coast.

  • Best season: Any.

  • Best time of day: Best light for photography ON the beach (for portraits/lifestyle) is in the morning but the scene is always beautiful.

  • Nice to know: There are horse riding tours available on the beach.
