Reykjanesviti Lighthouse is one of the oldest lighthouse in Iceland and has remained mostly unchanged since 1907-1908. It's located close to many attractions in Reykjanes like Reykjanestá, Valahnúkamöl, Gunnuhver and more.
A little history: The first lighthouse in Iceland was built close by in 1878 on Valahnúkur (close to where hte Reykjanes Lighthouse is now but right by the ocean) but by 1905 earthquakes and surf had damaged the ground it stood on, so much that there was the risk of the lighthouse falling into the sea. That's when they built this one!
QUICK NOTES:
What it is: One of the oldest lighthouses in Iceland.
Best season: Any.

Nice to know: You can walk all the way up to it. This area is great during quick trips around the Reykjanes peninsula since it's pretty packed with interesting attractions.
