Waterfall
Ahh, it's simply stunning. Just writing about it and scrolling through those photos is giving me major wanderlust, I can't wait to go back! This place is like discovering a secret sanctuary amidst the outback—pure, untouched, and absolutely mesmerizing. It is a place that etches itself into my memory forever. Trust me, once you've experienced its allure, you'll find yourself yearning for its embrace time and time again. With the waterhole’s sandy bottom, it’s often called Central Australia’s “beach”.
When exploring the area I suggest doing the Ormiston Rim walk which I have at its own destination but if you're for the reward without the effort you can also walk directly to the waterhole. This walk is short being only 500 meters and is wheelchair accessible
This waterhole has depths of up to 14 meters at its southern end. And here's the best part: it's croc-free territory. Yep, you heard that right. No need to worry about any unexpected visitors lurking beneath the surface, as this spot is tucked far south in Australia. So go ahead, dive in, and swim to your heart's content on those scorching hot days. Just a heads-up though, brace yourself for some seriously chilly waters—these waterholes don't mess around when it comes to cold temperatures
