The best position to contemplate the famous Rua Augusta, in downtown Lisbon, as covered in another 'thing to do' in our guide, is without a doubt from the top of the Rua Augusta Arch, facing Praça do Comércio.

Along this route, however, there are several interesting shops from which you can see the people passing by from above. This is the case of the 2nd floor of Fábrica da Nata, one of the pastry shop chains focused on pastéis de nata ("custard tards"), this Portuguese delicacy that captivates stomachs and hearts!

If you're at Rua Augusta and feel like eating a sweetie, we suggest you stop at Fábrica da Nata, buy your pastries and coffee and go up to the 2nd floor. Not only will you try this typical Portuguese pastry, but you will also have a privileged view of the beautiful Rua Augusta from above. We hope you enjoy this tip!
