This place isn't always readily accessible but if you want to give it a go, park your car by the fence as you drive onto Dyrhólaey and start making your way along the cliffs westwards. It takes about 20-30 minutes but once you're there you'll be happy you did it! And while you're there, watch out for the sneaker waves.

QUICK NOTES:

  • What it is: A black sand beach with a unique view of Dyrhólaey.

  • Best season: Summer (other work too).

  • Best time of day: Sunset.

  • Nice to know: You park close to the fence as you drive onto Dyrhólaey and hike from there.
