Stäubifall is a beautiful and impressive 180-metre waterfall located in the idyllic region of Uri near the village of Unterschächen in Switzerland. This picturesque spot features lush greenery and green wooden huts. It can be reached by car, and visitors can take a 6,4 km hike from Unterschächen to get to the waterfall. Visiting Stäubifall is an exciting adventure; hikers will ascend around 250 metres and enjoy stunning views of the landscape on their way. One can expect the most powerful flow of water in the early summer months due to the melting Hüfi glacier that feeds the waterfall. HIKE DETAILS
Start from Untersachen Ribi bus stop. Then follow the sign towards Stäubifall. The water volume is higher in late Spring early summer when the snow starts to melt.
The hike is fairly easy, totally doable with children.
I hiked this trail late October and I found myself in an early winter wonderland.
TIP: hike in the afternoon, at the morning you will be looking directly in the sun.
