Cabane Rambert is a charming rustic-style alpine property located in the heart of the French Alps. There are two ways to hike up there. I did the longest and toughest but probably the most beautiful one.

The Rambert hut is one of the huts on the way at the Tour des Muverans ( 4 days hut to hut hike)

HIKE DETAILS:

The hike starts at Lac de Derborence and leads up to Lac de la Forcle. The trail leads you through beautiful meadows and rocky landscapes. The hike will take roughly 5 hours. Distance 11 km with 1400 meters of elevation gains.

You need to follow trail number 82 ( Sanetsch - Muveran - Weg)

Once you reach the hut, give yourself two pats on the shoulders because this hike is not easy and order two beers because you deserve it !!!!

There are two option to finish up this hike. Sleep at the hut which I did since I was doing the Tour des Muverans.

Or continue your hike down to Ovronnaz village which will add an extra 6 km to your hike.

All together this could be 7 hours of hiking. Fun Fun.

TIP: If you decide to sleep in the hut, after dinner head out and wait behind the hut for the ibexes to arrive. On the day I was there I approximately saw 20 of them.

TIP2: bring enough water, there are no water source until Rambert hut.
