Dimmuborgir is a large area of unusually shaped lava fields east of Myvatn in Iceland. Formations dating back 2300 years. Various volcanic caves and rock formations make up the Dimmuborgir area. It is reminiscent of an ancient collapsed citadel
Dimmuborgir is very easily accessible, the site being along road 848 which circles Lake Myvatn
