Huitengxile Grassland, also known as the "cold plateau" in Mongolian, is a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Inner Mongolia.
With its picturesque alpine meadows, 99 natural lakes, and stunning Yellow Flowers Valley, this grassland offers a unique blend of natural beauty and cultural heritage.
Visit in the summer and you'll be faced with one of those screensaver scenes, with lush green meadows and a wide open blue sky.
Without any boundaries, the grasslands are a great place to just pick a direction and walk, enjoying the clean air and clear view.
Combine the visit with a stay in a yurt by the grassland and you'll get rewarded with wonderful starry skies at night.
The grasslands sit between Hohhot and Ulanqab meaning that you could drive/ get a driver and combine both in a short number of days.
