Nawurlandja Lookout is hands down an ultimate spot for catching a perfect sunset. Picture yourself there, soaking in the breathtaking Northern Territory landscape as the sun dips below the horizon. It’s pure magic, a place where you can relax, take it all in, and feel completely in tune with nature.
You can visit this spot year-round and at any time of day, but for the most spectacular experience, the sunset is unbeatable. As the sun dips, its warm glow reflects off the sandstone cliffs, creating a breathtaking scene that turns the landscape into a magical spectacle. When I visited I noticed a few couples having the most adorable picnics with a beveragino it truly is THE spot to be.
To get to Nawurlandja Lookout follow the trail from Nawurlandja Carpark which is 600 meters return. The signs here do say to allow 45 minutes for this walk however that is being very, very, very generous. It took me about 5 - 10 minutes to reach the top of the lookout. It is a steep incline but it’s totally doable for any fitness level. And trust me, the short burst of effort is absolutely worth the jaw-dropping view you'll get at the top.
