Listen up because to explore the true beauty of Sceale Bay, you need to know the local secrets. When I arrived in Streaky Bay, I had to pick something up from the post office where the local man working there clued me in on some incredible spots, specifically two amazing beaches in Sceale Bay. The locals refer to one of these beaches as Heart Bay due to its shape. To reach this destination, you’ll need to follow a dirt road that honestly felt like driving through a random grassy area, I’d barely call it a road. I’ve added a screenshot at the end of the photos, so if you swipe, you can drop this spot into your maps. The coordinates are 33°02'45.1"S 134°10'33.2"E.

This spot has so much raw and untouched beauty, I was blown away by the vibrant colors of the cliffs and the contrasting blue water with the green plant life. It’s truly a postcard-worthy spot, so make sure you bring along your camera. I personally wasn’t keen on a swim as the waves and current were a bit choppy, but taking a walk along the beach with not a single other footprint in the sand was incredible. When you park, there’s a rough track that takes you down to the beach since you park up on the cliff, but it’s not far at all. If you’re lucky, you might spot some Shingleback lizards sunbathing like I did.

The second beach that you’ll see pinned in my maps screenshot is just as beautiful, with coordinates 33°02'31.2"S 134°10'56.0"E. The dirt road is kind of like a circuit, so you can follow it to this beach from the last. Don’t miss these spots, Sceale Bay is so overlooked because only the locals know these gems, and now you do too!
