This spot is the perfect oasis for rejuvenating your mind, body, and soul. It is tucked away in the heart of Katherine. Like many natural hot springs in the Northern Territory, the water here maintains a soothing temperature of 25 to 30 degrees Celsius year-round. Though they are beautifully warm all year round it's important to plan your visit in the dry season (April to November) as they become croc-infested in the wet season.

Being conveniently located in town, this picturesque spot tends to draw a crowd of both tourists and locals. During my visits to the area, I noticed it was busy with schoolkids seeking relief from the heat. Despite the popularity, the atmosphere remains friendly, and people generally respect each other's space. If you are seeking a quieter experience, I would suggest visiting early in the morning or late in the arvo to enjoy a more serene ambiance.

There are a few different spots to swim in, but I'd suggest heading along the path and taking a left toward the top pool. It's a nice big pool with a cute little waterfall. From there, you can follow the water as it flows through to the other pools. When I went, the water was shallow enough to touch the bottom the whole way, but if you want to take it easy and float along, bringing a floaty or a pool noodle is a good idea.
