Just an hour north of Townsville you will find Paluma Range National Park which is home to the enchanting Big Crystal Creek, a natural playground that's perfect for adventurers and nature enthusiasts. To reach the pools and falls simply drive to the end of Spiegelhauer Road, a bit beyond the Big Crystal Creek campground. From there, a short 200-meter walk takes you down the road, across a floodway, and up a gentle slope to the start of a gravel track. This trail winds through a dry eucalypt forest, with a few steep sections and steps, leading you straight to the rock slides.
Once you arrive, you'll be greeted by a series of thrilling rock slides and inviting pools, ideal for an adrenaline-pumping ride or a leisurely swim.
