Visiting North Stradbroke Island feels like stepping into a coastal dream, just a short ferry ride from Brisbane. The island has stunning beaches like Cylinder Beach and Main Beach, where you can soak up the sun, swim in crystal-clear waters, or simply stroll along the picturesque shoreline.

The ferry ride costs $21.00 for a return walk-on ticket, making it an easy and budget-friendly escape from the city. Once you’re on the island, getting around is a breeze with options like rental bikes, buses (which are only 50 cents), or 4WD vehicles for those adventurous spots. I find the public buses to be the most convenient and economical option, as they run regularly and are quite cheap.

Straddie is iconic for its natural beauty, from its pristine sands to lush bushland, and offers fantastic whale-watching opportunities, especially from June to November. Whether you’re lounging on the beach, exploring scenic trails, or just soaking up the relaxed island vibe, Stradbroke Island is a must-visit spot.
