Mason's Swimming Hole in Cape Tribulation turned out to be one of my favorite discoveries during my trip to the Cape. Tucked away in the rainforest and just behind Mason's Cafe, this destination is the perfect escape from the heat and the crocs you might find at the nearby beach. The $1 donation to enjoy the spot felt like a small price to pay for such a refreshing retreat.
When I arrived, I was greeted by crystal-clear, cool waters surrounded by mossy rocks and lively native fish, everything you could hope for in a serene swimming hole. It’s a popular spot, especially with families, so don’t be surprised if you find yourself sharing the space with kids splashing around.
One of the highlights was definitely the rope swing. It added a splash of fun and a great way to fully appreciate the natural beauty of the area. After a few invigorating dips, find a grassy spot nearby, spread out a picnic blanket, and bask in the sun. Mason’s Swimming Hole turned out to be the perfect blend of adventure and relaxation and is completely croc-free so you'll feel 100% safe to enjoy the water and surroundings.
