Eating snails in Portugal is not only a country-wide tradition, but also the country's favorite summertime snack!

We know: for some people, the texture, smell or taste can be odd, but this is certainly a seasonal and very popular dish to be ordered with some local (draft) beer: Sagres or Super Bock.

Caracóis ("snails") are small, while caracoletas (closer to the French "escargots") are a bit larger. Both require some ability / special technique to take out the eatable part from its shell, but it is certainly worth the effort!
