Since May 2014, Lisbon's traditional Mercado da Ribeira landmark building hosts the Time Out Market, a diverse food hall with several pop-up restaurants and kiosks, located at one of this venue's halves. The other side of Mercado da Ribeira is home to the city's municipal farmer's market, with plenty of local producers selling fresh fruits and vegetables.
Mercado da Ribeira / Time Out Market is situated at the neighborhood known as Cais do Sodré, which names both the local metro and railway stations.
This was the first of several planned food hall ventures for the British Time Out magazine.
The idea here is to cherry pick the best from each restaurant / kiosk and sit at large communal tables. Prices are higher than regular / local / family-run restaurants, but the experience is amazing!
