Avenida da Liberdade ("Avenue of Liberty") is the most prestigious boulevard in central Lisbon, mimicking Paris' Champs-Élysées and marking Lisbon's northward expansion in the 19th century.

This is where you can find the stores of some of the most luxurious and expensive global brands. It connects Praça Marquês de Pombal ("Marquis of Pombal Square") to Praça dos Restauradores ("Restauradores Square").

Avenida da Liberdade is also a beautiful green area in the city with plenty of trees, thus a great place for relaxation, joy and contemplation. But don't forget to look down as well as its remarkable sidewalks are decorated with the traditional mosaic-like Portuguese pavement. There are a few kiosks along the avenue where you can sit back, order a drink and enjoy the view.
