A short walk along the coastline at Tolaga Bay will bring you to the Hole in the Rock, this unique rock formation. The large archway has been carved out by the relentless force of the ocean, forming a hole in the cliffs. It is a beautiful spot to watch the sunrise. Continue along the trail to Cook's Cove, a beautiful bay, surrounded by white cliffs.

Start the walk from the small car park at the trailhead, near the main Tolaga Bay car park. The route is signposted, with information boards detailing the history of the area. The walk is approx 1.5 hours return along the same track.

Remember: The track crosses private property, so be respectful. It is also closed for lambing season between 1st August and late October.

Personal tip: Cook’s Cove is east facing and is a beautiful spot to watch the sunrise.

Pronunciation: Tolaga - toe-laa-gaa
