On the shores of Lake Wakatipu, Bob’s Cove is a scenic spot with beautiful blue water and mountain views. A short 20-minute walking track takes you to the famous Bob’s Cove wharf, an easy track for all abilities. For something more challenging, you can hike a short steep climb to a viewpoint, for a 1.5 hour loop track. From the viewpoint, you’ll see spectacular views of Lake Wakatipu and the surrounding mountains. It’s a beautiful spot to cool off with a refreshing swim in summer! It’s a great place to break up the drive between Queenstown and Glenorchy. Located 14km out of Queenstown along the Glenorchy Road, Bob’s Cove is a short 20 minutes drive. Parking is available at the track entrance.

Remember: The carpark can get busy over the summer months, it is recommended to avoid midday peak times to secure a spot. Do not park along the main road or reverse out onto the road. Drive safely and be respectful of other road users.

Personal tip: Bring your camera, this is a popular spot for the ‘gram! The clear blue waters are incredible. If you’re brave enough for a dip, jump in!

Pronunciation: Wakatipu - waa-kaa-tee-poo
