If you gave me the choice between spending a day in the city or out in nature, I'd always pick the natural setting. But one thing Aussie cities nail is their botanical gardens, kind of the best of both worlds if you're exploring urban areas. I make it a point to check out botanical gardens and museums/art galleries whenever I'm in a city, and Melbourne was no exception. The Melbourne Gardens are a lush oasis right in the heart of the city, featuring over 85,000 plant species from all over the globe. With its stunning landscapes and diverse collections, from camellias and rainforest flora to quirky cacti, it’s a fantastic spot for nature lovers like me or anyone just looking for a peaceful escape. So, if you’re in Melbourne and craving a nature fix, these gardens have got you covered!
