Walsh's Pyramid is a striking natural landmark near Cairns, standing tall as one of the most recognizable peaks in Far North Queensland. This impressive, pyramid-shaped mountain rises 922 meters above sea level, offering a dramatic backdrop to the lush, tropical landscape. It’s an iconic photo spot, with incredible shots available along the road that leads up to the pyramid.

But it’s not just about the photos; you can also hike to the summit if you’re up for the challenge. The hike is demanding, with a steep trail that requires stamina and determination, but the reward is breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding rainforests and the Coral Sea in the distance. The hike is 6.1 kilometers in total and typically takes between 4 to 6 hours, so come prepared with plenty of water and sturdy footwear. I had a big hike planned for the next day and didn't tackle Walsh's Pyramid myself, which I kind of regret. The views from the summit look like they make the climb worthwhile, offering a sense of accomplishment and awe-inspiring views.

Additionally, every year there’s a footrace to the top called the "Pyramid Race," where competitors vie for a $1000 prize, adding an exciting challenge for those looking to test their limits.
